I'm not really sure how it goes But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete
어떻게 시작하는지는 잘 기억이 나질 않지만 슬프면서도 달콤한(낭만적인) 곡이지.

젊었을 땐 그 노래를 알았었는데..

노래 한 곡 불러주게자넨 피아노맨이잖아

오늘 밤 우리에게 노래 불러 주게

"확신하건데... 이옷을 벗어난다면, 영화배우라도 될거같아"

Now Paul is a real estate novelist
폴은 부동산 책을 쓰는 사람,
Who never had time for a wife
부인과 함께할 시간도 없는 사람이죠
And he's talkin' with Davy who's still in the navy
지금 그가 말을 하고 있는 데이비는 해군에 근무하는 사람
And probably will be for life
아마 일생을 해군으로 살 것 같아요

And the waitress is practicing politics
웨이트레스가 손님들을 능숙히 다루고
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
비지니스맨들은  천천히 취해가죠
Yes, they're sharing a drink they call loneliness
그들은 외로움이라 불리는 술잔을 나눠요
But it's better than drinkin' alone
하지만, 홀로 마시는 것 보단 낫죠

 

It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
손님들이 꽤 몰리는 토요일
And the manager gives me a smile
매니저가 내게 미소를 보냅니다
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
손님들이 날 보기위해 온다는 것을 알기 때문이죠
To forget about life for a while
잠시라도 그들의 삶을 잊고 가기 위해서...
 
And the piano, it sounds like a carnival
축제처럼 피아노의 소리가 울리고
And the microphone smells like a beer
마이크엔 맥주향기가 납니다
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
손님들은 바에 앉아 내 팁함에 빵(팁)을 넣어줍니다
And say, "Man, what are you doin' here?"
그리고 말합니다. "이봐~ 이런 촌구석에서 뭐하고 있는거야?"
